Head of Controlling Region Latin America

The Head of Controlling Region Latin America is a senior finance professional responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Mexican entity and providing leadership across all Latin American countries.

This role covers financial planning budgeting forecasting reporting compliance customer credit management and internal controls throughout the region. The Head of Controlling Region Latin America plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting delivering strategic insights to support business growth optimizing costs and driving overall financial performance.

The position holds full accountability for controlling and financial management across the Latin American region working in close with the Regional Director Country Managers and cross-functional teams. Close collaboration with finance operations and sales is essential to effectively manage business performance project costs and margins.  The Head of Controlling Region Latin America reports disciplinarily to the Regional Director Latin America and functionally to the Vice President of Global Sales Controlling.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in finance and controlling preferably within the construction or scaffolding industry and demonstrates proven ability to lead in a dynamic hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) & Performance:

• Lead manage and review the preparation of budgets forecasts and financial models.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including Gross Margin (GM) intercompany margins cost controls and stock levels to support strategic decisions.
• Ensure accurate project costing and implement effective pricing strategies to maintain and enhance profitability.
• Oversee cost allocation processes and ensure transparent and accurate financial reporting.
• Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

• Prepare review and present timely and accurate financial reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with accounting standards company policies and relevant regulations.

Credit Evaluation & Collection Efficiency

• Establish and enforce credit policies and risk segmentation to safeguard cash flow and enable growth.
• Lead the design and execution of credit evaluation and collection strategies across regions.
• Optimize processes through ERP systems Power BI dashboards automation and or AI-driven insights.
• Drive data-based decision-making for AR forecasting overdue management and customer risk profiling.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Foster close collaboration with the shared services finance team to ensure alignment and consistency in reporting and processes.
• Partner with Sales and Operations teams to optimize supply chain performance working capital and inventory management.
• Drive initiatives to improve cash flow capital expenditure efficiency and overall financial performance.

Investment & Risk Management & Compliance:

• Establish maintain and enforce robust internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Evaluate and manage financial risks related to new projects market fluctuations and customer payment terms.

Qualifications :

• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

• Experience: 
  • Regional ownership in LAM: 10 years of progressive experience in finance and controlling including at least 3 years in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Projectbased business experience: Construction scaffolding rental or industrial sectors is preferred.

• Technical Skills: 
  • Endtoend Controlling: Budgeting/forecasting management reporting GM analysis cost allocation pricing governance inventory & working capital intercompany and transfer pricing exposure.
  • Credit & collections leadership: Has designed credit policy segmented risk improved DSO/overdue and partnered with Sales on tough accounts (writeoffs credit insurance/factoring litigation).
  • Internal controls & compliance: Mexican and international GAAP revenue recognition inventory valuation.
  • Proficiency in ERP Systems & data: (e.g. Epicor SAP) and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Relationship management: Excellent communication leadership and analytical skills.

• Soft Skills: 
  • Matrix leadership: Can influence Regional Director Country Managers Sales & Ops; has led small regional controlling teams or CoE/sharedservice partners.
  • Style: Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic hands-on environment while managing multiple priorities. Factbased comfortable in the field and at the board table; resilient in volatile markets.
  • Language requirements: Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a big plus.
