Guy Carpenter is seeking candidates to join us as a Catastrophe Risk Management Analyst based in the Stockholm Office.
Role Description:
- You will assess and manage the impacts of hazards such as windstorm and flood on insurance companies property damage and resulting financial losses using state-of-the-art analytical tools. You will work alongside our top-tier professionals acting as an advisor to our Nordic clients on areas such as catastrophe risk management climate change and reinsurance decision making. You will collaborate closely with the wider broking and analytics teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with regular interaction across the Nordics Europe and globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to collect check and process property exposure data.
- Run state-of-the-art analytical models and tools to help quantify catastrophe exposure and the range of potential insured losses from natural and man-made catastrophe perils.
- Review and interpret model outputs highlight the main findings in plain language and prepare clear concise summaries and presentations for non-technical stakeholders.
- Research and summarize relevant industry and scientific literature to support analyses improve your understanding of perils and provide evidence for client recommendations.
What makes you stand out:
- Experience with preparing and presenting quantitative analyses to a variety of audiences.
- Experience with managing and structuring large datasets and/or geospatial data (Python R SQL etc.).
- Specific knowledge or experience relevant for understanding catastrophe risk and modelling (e.g. climate change windstorm flood engineering statistical modelling of extremes).
- Experience in market-leading catastrophe models such as RMS Verisk RQE.
