Details of Research Project:We are seeking a motivated individual to work as an associate researcher in our laboratory. The individual will have opportunities to interface with both clinical staff and basic scientists making the position ideal for someone who is interested in broad exposure to the challenges associated with diagnosing treating and studying degenerative brain diseases (e.g. Alzheimers disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy Parkinsons disease etc.). The individual will be trained to deploy various approaches to study human brain diseases using stem cell models multiscale analysis of human post-mortem brain tissues and gain exposure to challenges associated with treatment modalities diagnosis and research design.
Technical Duties: (include any protocols)The laboratory uses a variety of techniques including DNA/RNA sequencing histology confocal microscopy stem cell culture optogenetics and biochemistry.Responsibilities include:
Microscopy (e.g. immunohistochemistry immunofluorescence confocal microscopy)
Cell culture (e.g. stem cell lines and fibroblast lines)
Molecular biology and biochemistry (e.g. PCR RT-PCR DNA/RNA isolation immunoblotting etc.)
Experience Required:
Applicants must have experience working in a basic laboratory environment
Applicants must have experience in neuroscience and brain research
This role requires a bachelors degree in a science related discipline such as Neuroscience Biology Chemistry etc.
Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
