Seamstress

Staff Management Group is seeking a Seamstress for our client in Avenel NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 1st shift: 6:30AM - 3PM
• Monday - Friday

Pay Rate:

• $20 / hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Industrial Seamstress with experience operating sewing machines in a production or warehouse setting. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail follows instructions well and is open to cross-training in warehouse tasks such as scanning picking and packing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate industrial sewing machines to complete custom sewing tasks and alterations
• Follow detailed instructions to meet design and quality specifications
• Inspect finished items for stitching accuracy and material defects
• Perform repairs or modifications as requested by customers or production managers
• Participate in sewing machine test evaluations prior to onboarding
• Assist with general warehouse tasks including pick/pack and scanner operations
• Keep work area clean and follow all safety guidelines
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage
• Report any machine malfunctions or production issues to supervisors

Job Requirements:

• Proven sewing machine experience in a manufacturing textile or warehouse environment
• Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
• Must be reliable punctual and able to work independently
• Good vision and manual dexterity
• Must be available to complete an on-site sewing skills test
