About Us: Mad Science of Washington delivers hands-on STEM experiences that ignite curiosity and creativity in kids across the DMV. From after-school programs to summer camps and birthday parties we bring science to life in the most entertaining ways possible. Were a small business with a big reach who works with over 100 schools and 20000 kids per year.
Role Overview: Were looking for a highly organized energetic Operations Coordinator to help run the day-to-day logistics of our educational programs. Youll be the operational gluesupporting staff managing schedules talking to clients and taking a big role in ensuring every event runs smoothly. Youll be supported by a dedicated team that cares about the work they do and the children they reach. This is an amazing opportunity for someone 15 years in the workforce to establish a career in operations and management preferably with us!
Work Hours:
- September to Mid-June: MondayFriday 9:00 AM5:00 PM
- Late-June thru August: MondayFriday 8:00 AM4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations and program logistics
- Assist with hiring onboarding managing and supervising our team of 80 summer camp counselors and 25 after school instructors; in time become their primary point of contact
- Co-lead orientation and suppot training
- Assist with scheduling of staff and manage client bookings
- Help ensure quality control across all programming
- Serve as a point of contact for schools parents and partners
Qualifications:
- Experience in operations is a plus but not required
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- A self starter someone who wants to learn and grow
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be available on-site at company headquarters at 12065 Tech Rd Silver Spring MD daily
- Must have an Associates degree or higher

- The pay range of $47000-$60000 is based largely on experience and skills
