Job Summary
Job Title: Equipment Operator
Location: Katy TX (77493)
Duration: 6 Months
Schedule: First Shift: 7:00 AM 5:00 PM
Second Shift: 3:00 PM 1:00 AM.
Weekend work required every other weekend (Saturday shifts are 8 10 hours).
Job Description:
The Mechanical Technician Trainee or experience Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of equipment as per operational demands. The Mechanical Technician Trainee improves maintenance related nonproductive time ratio of the Product Lines assets within the Maintenance Base (MB) and improves maintenance efficiency and people productivity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain assigned equipment according to the pertinent maintenance program and compliant with the reliability centered maintenance strategy through adherence to the Computerized Maintenance Management System and standard work.
- Adhere to transactional discipline within Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) business systems to record materials and supplies labor costs and equipment maintenance performance history such as movements work orders parts used and time to maintain.
- Comply with TLM Product Line standards.
- Participate in the continuous improvement culture initiatives and improvement plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve asset turnaround time which includes reducing downtime due to maintenance parts and return authorization numbers failures and work-in-process.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
- Implement CoSD projects such as the planned repair and reuse of parts.
- Participate in failure investigations as assigned.
- Comply with the TLM Competency Management System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tear down and clean tools from oil rigs (wash bay power washing disassembly).
- Use basic hand tools such as drills and grinders.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Support maintenance and production operations
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience; entry-level candidates are acceptable.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Willingness to work and learn.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Outlook).
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems is a plus.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- No formal education or certifications required.
- High school graduates with mechanical aptitude are acceptable.
- Experience with cranes/forklifts is helpful; Client will recertify as needed.
Training:
Conducted locally.
Second shift hires will train on first shift for 30 60 days
