Job Description:

A skilled Data Engineer to join the Cloud FinOps team. This role will focus on designing building and maintaining data pipelines and analytical solutions that provide visibility into cloud spend enable cost optimization and support financial governance for our cloud infrastructure. Data Engineer will collaborate closely with Cloud Engineers Finance and Product teams to deliver accurate timely and actionable insights on cloud usage and cost trends.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Pipeline Development: Design build and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest transform and store cloud billing usage and cost data from providers such as AWS Azure and GCP.
Data Modeling & ETL: Develop robust ETL/ELT processes and data models to ensure clean reliable and performant datasets for reporting and analytics.
Automation & Optimization: Automate cost data collection tagging enforcement and cost allocation processes to support continuous cost visibility and optimization.
Analytics & Insights: Partner with FinOps analysts to build dashboards reports and forecasting models in BI tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau Looker) to monitor cost trends and anomalies.
Collaboration: Work with Cloud Engineering and Finance to develop KPIs alerts and recommendations for right-sizing reserved instance coverage and waste reduction.
Data Governance: Ensure data quality consistency and compliance with security and financial reporting standards.
