A premium manufacturer of luxury off-road caravans is seeking a qualified Industrial Engineer to enhance production efficiency quality control and operational performance. Known for combining craftsmanship with engineering precision the company builds adventure-ready products with a focus on durability and design excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising manufacturing processes implementing quality systems and driving continuous improvement across the production environment. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer with strong product knowledge and practical experience in fabrication and assembly.
- Analyse and improve existing production workflows and factory layouts
- Design and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Control systems
- Conduct time and motion studies and introduce performance metrics
- Collaborate with design and operations teams to align production capacity with build schedules
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output quality and cost-effectiveness
- Support new product introductions through engineering input and process design
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and ISO 9001 standards
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing or production environment (automotive caravan trailer or fabrication preferred)
- ECSA registration as a Candidate or Professional Engineer/Technologist (advantageous)
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Expertise in lean manufacturing Six Sigma Kaizen or similar methodologies
- Experience with process design workflow optimisation and factory layout planning
- Practical knowledge of metal fabrication assembly electrical plumbing and finishing processes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools
- Competence in BOM creation ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities
