A Brief Overview
The Interpreter Dispatcher/Scheduler and Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating effective language access for Stanford Health Care (SHC) providers and patients. This position involves coordinating interpretation services for patient care and institutional needs. It also involves providing administrative support to the Medical Interpretation and Translation Services (MIT) responsibilities include bridging language access barriers while ensuring patient confidentiality and adhering to both departmental workflows and SHC policies. The Interpreter Dispatcher/Scheduler ensures that providers and patients receive appropriate interpretation services (on-demand pre-scheduled in-person video or phone) in a timely position contributes to guaranteeing that all patients have equitable access to healthcare services and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for diverse populations. By effectively and efficiently managing MIT interpretation resources the Interpreter Dispatcher/Scheduler contributes to the overall quality of care and patient satisfaction within the Stanford Health Care position is essential in promoting effective communication and enhancing the patient experience at Stanford Health Care.

What you will do
  • Coordinate daily interpretation coverage using SHC scheduling and dispatching platforms and tools
  • Address on-demand requests and dispatch interpreters to where services are needed and when necessary appropriately refer providers to video and phone services when in-person interpretation is not available
  • Maintain real-time logs of requests and coverage with accuracy
  • Manage dispatcher coverage to ensure continuous access for requesters and work assignments for interpreters as needed
  • Ensure that all dispatcher tools are prepared appropriately and accurately for the shift including but not limited to crosschecking daily interpreter staffing assignments and availability
  • Manage pre-scheduling interpreter requests for MIT as they are received including but not limited to recording requests communicating request fulfillment with requesters coordinating additional coverage for requests with a member of MIT leadership when needed
  • Create daily interpreter assignment schedules following prescribed format of approved tools
  • Manage communication related to pre-scheduling interpreter requests with multiple agency/vendors when needed and updating MIT leadership and interpreters as necessary
  • Assist MIT in tracking and tracing language access gaps through SHC internal reporting platform as needed.
  • Provide administrative support to MIT leadership including but not limited to scheduling of departmental meetings and other events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience Qualifications
  • Four (4) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Healthcare field preferred. Required

  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain excellent customer relationships showcasing exemplary interpersonal skills sound judgment and professionalism in both business and personnel matters.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $41.68 - $54.19 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity experience education specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
