The Audio Systems Integration Engineer will support the design and development of audio hardware and be responsible for complete end-to-end integration of audio components. You will work directly with the audio feature owner suppliers and various cross-functional teams to support product design vehicle behaviors definition prototype bring-up and validation with a system level focus. You will lead bring-up and validation activities for each vehicle build and be responsible for overall functionality and performance of audio hardware throughout product life cycle.



Responsibilities

What youll be able to do:

  • Work with Audio lead on hardware integration by supporting executing and reporting on integration test plans for hardware components and system features to rapidly retire risk from new designs and provide feedback to development teams
  • Test and validate hardware and system requirements for audio components system functions and customer features
  • Lead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up debug and engineering test of prototype bucks labcars and vehicles
  • Create hardware and system product specifications for audio components interface directly with suppliers to lead sourcing design activities and work with suppliers to deliver the components within build plan
  • Contribute to the development and validation of electrical architecture perform trade studies to realize efficient design strategies and optimize for cost
  • Provide strategy for component delivery working directly with purchasing team
  • Support systems integration efforts with interface definition development and testing in collaboration with subject matter experts and other cross-functional engineering teams

  • Utilize internal systems to document part releases

  • Build audio system to execute demos and validate overall system performance

  • Support acoustic electrical and mechanical measurement system assessment



Qualifications

Youll have...

  • B.S in Electrical Computer or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • Five years experience in a similar role

  • Experience and working knowledge of systems development vehicle electrical architecture functional safety and component level integration planning

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts

  • Experience designing and releasing electronic components from concept through production

  • Proven debugging and diagnostic skills in electrical mechanical and software domains
  • Experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN LIN & Automotive Ethernet
  • Experience with creating and executing component and system level test procedures
  • Experience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA etc)
  • Experience with Vehicle homologation and vehicle regulations
  • Excellent teamwork problem-solving communication and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team
  • A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

Even better you may have...

  • Masters Degree Electrical Engineering Computer Science Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes DMMs signal generators power supplies etc.)

  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA)
  • Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
  • Experience with creating and modifying network interface description files is a plus

This position is a salary grade 8.
