The role:
At APMT safety is our nr1 priority. The Head of HSE will work closely with the senior management team to shape agree and implement an HSE strategy fully integrated into all business and operation processes and supported by a competent customer focused team which embraces and promotes a positive health and safety culture. This position is there to provide assurance that risk is effectively managed through delivery of operations with an equally excellent approach to safety reliability and quality. The heads of HSE and Security stay closely aligned and will act as stand in for each other.

Key responsibilities:
HSE Leadership:
In line with the high level APMT HSE strategy create a HSE vision and strategy with
the SMT considering the regulatory framework risk profile compliance level and
business drivers across APM Terminals Maasvlakte II B.V.
Ensuring that all HSE improvement activities reflect latest legislation and best
practice and are effectively embedded within the organization.
Develop and implement prevention and assurance programs including deep dives;
audits and inspections to assure the level of HSE engagement compliance and senior
management commitment.
Challenge influence and support Senior Managers and personnel to ensure the
continued development of HSE culture and operating best practices through the
embedding HSE strategic elements in business unit operating and resourcing plans.
Provide technical expertise strategic leadership and support across the Senior
Management Team.
The Head of HSE maintains relationships with external stakeholders. (eg. Deltalinks
DCMR NWVA ISZW Port Authority and APMT headquarters)
Team Leadership
Inspire and lead the HSE team to deliver through a business partnering model the HSE vision and strategy whilst role modelling a values-led risk model approach.
License to operate and permits
Lead the relationships between the business units on our concession and APMT HSE
MVII to:
Represent and protect business interests through negotiation challenge and
influence.
Advise the business in a timely manner on all HSE legislative and best practice
developments.
Application for and maintaining HSE related permits (e.g. Environmental
Buildings).
