Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for an Electrical Systems Service Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to join their team in Seal Beach CA.

As an Electrical Systems Service Engineer your primary responsibility will be to assist airline customers in resolving real-time technical problems and issues for airline operators. This includes answering general systems functionality inquiries resolving short to medium-term avionics/electrical-related problem reports investigating long-term issues and providing proactive fleet guidance. You will work with operators to recover Airplane on Ground (AOG) situations which sometimes requires working over the phone to troubleshoot an airplane in different time zones or travel onsite to the airplane location and work with technicians to return a grounded airplane back to revenue service. All of this is done using the latest Boeing tools technology data analytics and real-time fleet monitoring data.

Boeing Customer Support operates on a 24/7/365 basis. Employees must be willing to work flexible hours and/or non-standard shifts to support our fleets. International and domestic travel may be required.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Level Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical design and informational support for basic production product support or in-service issues.

  • Troubleshoots system problems consistent with operational protocols.

  • Supports and/or creates and provides basic technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles Service Letters Drawings Specifications documents data sets design folders test requirements documents manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures for internal reference or external delivery.

  • Supports review of technical design analysis and production by reviewing documentation participating in design reviews and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance.

  • Assists with the investigation of problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies.

  • Supports and/or leads the research of technical operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.

  • Assists in designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.

  • Works with and possibly directing cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.

  • Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.

  • Assesses complex system event reports to determine potential safety issues.

  • Must be able to travel to Airlines to lead Technical / Executive review meetings and address complex technical issues.

Work Authorization Statement:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Seal Beach CA location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical Mechanical or Aeronautical) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

  • 2 years of engineering experience.

  • Able and willing to work off shift (24/7/365-day operation. Saturday and Sunday may be required workdays).

  • Willing and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 years of engineering experience.

  • 1 years of project management experience.

  • Familiarity with Electromagnetic Effects (EME) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI)

  • Experience presenting to stakeholders.

  • Ability to collaborate with multiple team functions.

  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.

Summary Pay Ranges:

  • Associate (Level 2): $85850 - $116150

  • Experienced (level 3): $102850 - $139150
