What Youll Be Doing:

As a Surveyor at VanPile youll play a key role in supporting our marine and heavy civil construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey pile locations batter orientations and structure elevations using GPS and total station equipment
  • Draft and interpret pre-construction and as-built drawings in AutoCAD; prepare detailed reports
  • Support dredging and construction activities with topographic and bathymetric data collection using singlebeam multibeam and LiDAR systems
  • Prepare and coordinate field equipment and logistics for daily operations
  • Collaborate with project teams to meet construction goals and timelines
  • Uphold VanPiles commitment to Health Safety & Environment standards

What Youll Bring:

  • Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering or Surveying
  • 35 years of relevant experience preferably in heavy civil or marine construction
  • Proficiency in GPS and total station surveying
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is an asset)
  • Strong technical and computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in all weather conditions

Assets:

  • Hydrographic survey experience using singlebeam multibeam and LiDAR systems
  • Bathymetric data processing experience using HYPACK software
  • Experience with Trimble equipment
  • Small boat operation experience
  • Mechanical aptitude

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $70k-$90k per annum
