Job Summary

Position Title: Registered Nurse - Critical Care - Float
Location: Utica NY
Job Type: Contract (Local or Travel options available)
Shift: Day Shift MondayFriday 7:00 AM 7:00 PM (combination of 8- or 10-hour shifts depending on unit needs)
Duration: 13 weeks
Hourly Pay: $55/hr
Weekly Pay: $1897.50/week

Key Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor complex rapidly changing conditions.
Administer and titrate critical medications including vasoactive drips sedatives and analgesics per provider orders and hospital protocols.
Manage ventilators invasive lines (central lines arterial lines) and other advanced medical equipment.
Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Document all patient assessments interventions and outcomes accurately and promptly in the EMR.
Respond to life-threatening emergencies including CPR and code team participation.
Float between various critical care units based on staffing and patient acuity demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Ensure adherence to infection control standards patient safety policies and hospital protocols.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding critical illness procedures and recovery.
Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.

Qualifications:

Active New York State RN license
BLS and ACLS certification (AHA required)
Minimum 1 year of recent Critical Care (ICU CCU or Step-Down) experience
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
Strong clinical judgment communication and critical thinking skills
Proficiency with EMR systems preferred
