Food Scientist
Summary
The Food Scientist is responsible for high level Project Management of key accounts displaying leadership capabilities while exhibiting product development expertise.
We are open to candidates at various experience levels from early-career food scientists to seasoned professionals
Essential Functions
- Meet the requirements of a Senior Scientist I
- Perform high level project management
- Develop mastery of customers products and processes
- Mentor entry level scientist and interns when applicable
- Demonstrate significant innovation and improvement in product development and processes
- Respond and adapt to change quickly
- Identify root cause of a problem and implement corrective action
- Conduct situation analysis and troubleshoot
- Recognize and incorporate industry advances and technology
- Display superior knowledge of ingredients
- Design and implement all technical aspects of projects to ensure that all projects proceed according to plan
- Apply delegation skills when appropriate
- Perform other duties or special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelors Degree in Food Science Culinary Science Biology Chemistry or related field.
- Minimum of eight years related experience and/or training.
- Strong communication interpersonal skills and general knowledge in MS Office AS400 and Lotus Notes.
Work Environment
- General office setting.
- Periodic exposure to: (1) loud environment (2) airborne particles with stronger odors associated with spicy food ingredients (3) cold hot wet and humid conditions (4) walking and standing on concrete (5) climbing steps ladders (6) standing on elevated surfaces.
