Position Summary
The Web Developer will play a critical role in supporting OneCarolinas digital transformation initiatives by developing customizing and maintaining Drupal-based websites and platforms. This position will focus on creating and maintaining high-quality user-friendly and scalable web properties including the universitys Campaign site and the internal OneCarolina Hub. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with collaborative problem-solving skills to enhance user engagement operational efficiency and organizational impact. As a core member of the University Development Offices Digital Innovation team the Web Developer will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless communication alignment and project delivery. This role will also ensure the universitys digital properties meet accessibility security and performance standards while remaining adaptable to evolving technological trends.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Proficiency in developing and maintaining Drupal websites including expertise in the most recent iterations of Drupal. * Strong knowledge of PHP HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript and MySQL. * Experience with theming custom module development and third-party integrations. * Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG ) security best practices and performance optimization. * Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. * Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
* Experience working in higher education or large decentralized organizations. * Familiarity with Acquia or other Drupal hosting platforms. * Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD workflows. * Understanding of digital marketing technologies (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics).
