The RN will provide high-quality care to patients receiving infusion therapy in an outpatient setting. This role involves administering intravenous medications monitoring patient responses and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective treatment plans.

Essential Functions
- Delivers top-tier nursing care by planning organizing and overseeing patient care activities
- Develops and implements individualized patient care plans
- Assigns nursing tasks based on staff skill levels
- Assess patient conditions monitor vital signs and recognize adverse reactions or complications during infusion treatments.
- Identifies challenges and supports staff in resolving them
- Cultivates a supportive work environment that promotes staff growth and satisfaction
- Executes physicians orders accurately and promptly
- Administers medications chemotherapy and IV solutions with precision while following established protocols.
- Ensures thorough and accurate documentation and reporting
- Maintains availability of necessary supplies and equipment
- Contributes to planning and implementing improvements
- Participates in hospital safety and infection-control initiatives
- Remains composed and resourceful during emergencies
- Assists with staff orientation and in-service training
- Supports unit and department performance improvement efforts
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans potential side effects and post-infusion care.
- Perform venipuncture and demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion and management of vascular access devices (e.g. PICC lines ports).
- Ensure proper handling preparation and disposal of infusion medications and equipment in compliance with safety standards.
- Helps review and update policies and procedures
- Protects patient privacy and confidentiality
- Demonstrates initiative concern and adherence to hospital policies
- Maintains punctuality efficiency and minimal absences
- Builds strong relationships with nursing staff physicians other departments and visitors
Functional Demands
- Involves extended periods of standing walking or sitting
- Requires lifting pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Includes transferring and repositioning patients
- Involves reaching stooping bending kneeling and crouching for patient care
- Demands visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity for essential duties
- Requires ability to thrive in a fast-paced stressful environment
- Must pass all required health and screening tests
- Work environment is clean and well-lit but may involve exposure to unpleasant sights odors stress hazardous agents or infectious diseases requiring sound judgment on precautions
- May experience temperature variations and limited exposure to chemicals or substances
- Hours may be irregular or extended due to emergencies. May require occasional flexibility to stay later based on patient scheduling needs
- Involves direct contact with blood/body fluids requiring universal precautions and use of provided personal protective equipment
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of one year as an RN required; oncology and chemotherapy experience preferred. Selected candidate must obtain Chemo/Bio certification within one year if not already certified. OCN certification welcomed
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Skills: Ability to assess and address patients unique needs based on medical conditions age (adolescents to geriatric) and planned procedures; strong judgment in patient care delivery; excellent verbal and written communication; ability to perform in high-stress settings; current CPR certification; occasional overtime may be required
- Licensure: Current Mississippi RN license; BLS certification required
