Work across PACU Same Day Surgery and Pre-Anesthesia Testing with your daily assignment scheduled in advance.
Care for a diverse mix of surgical patients:
- 55% orthopedic (total joints sports medicine ACLs Achilles foot/ankle hand)
- 30% general surgery (robotic hernia repairs gallbladders appendectomies endoscopy)
- 1015% OB/GYN (C-sections hysterectomies hysteroscopies D&Cs)
- 5% ENT podiatry urology and occasional pediatric dental cases
Youll provide pre-procedure assessments develop and adjust care plans deliver medications and fluids per OR policy and maintain documentation in line with AORN and departmental standards.
RNs who enjoy variety teamwork and a fast pace.
Adaptable nurses who value learning all aspects of surgical services rather than staying in one niche.
Team players who can easily move between a patient-facing PACU the procedure flow of Same Day Surgery and the phone-based pace of Pre-Anesthesia Testing.
Same Day Surgery: 5 nurses per day
PACU: 2 nurses per shifthigh collaboration and close coordination
Pre-Anesthesia Testing: 23 nurses daily working primarily by phone to review histories medications and pre-op instructions
Youll work under two supportive PCCs who handle scheduling and daily coordination reporting to the Surgical Services Manager.
Current Montana RN license (or compact state license)
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred (or obtained within 6 months)
BSN preferred
2 years of relevant nursing experience preferred (OR PACU or acute care)
- Peri-anesthesia certifications such as CAPA or CPAN are highly valued.
