SGS IVE is offering an exciting opportunity to join our New Plymouth team as an Apprentice Valve Technician.
This role is ideal for a recent school leaver with a passion for industrial engineering and a desire to gain a Level 4 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
What Youll Be Doing:
- Learn all aspects of valve overhaul and repair both in the workshop and on customer sites.
- Assist with valve refurbishments under supervision.
- Complete training and customer inductions to work safely and effectively on-site.
- Maintain workshop cleanliness and machinery.
- Undertake training and assessments as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Branch Manager.
Qualifications :
- A genuine interest in industrial engineering and valve servicing.
- Relevant NCEA Level 2 subjects one or more of the following maths physics workshop technology or design & technology (highly beneficial).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow technical instructions.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliability punctuality and a strong work ethicyou take pride in showing up on time and being ready to learn.
- Willingness to learn and grow through hands-on training and formal education.
- A current NZ drivers licence.
