  • Salary ranges from $129464 to $142665 plus super and leave loading (Clerk Grade 9/10)

Our Business Advisory team in the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is seeking to appoint a Senior Business Advisor who has a passion for communication purpose innovation and is able to leverage technology to achieve best practice to support the dynamic Corporate and Enabling Services division.

This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your strong analytical and stakeholder collaboration skills to support a progressive and engaged client group.

About the role

The Senior Business Advisor provides support to the Corporate and Enabling Services division within DCCEEW. It takes the lead role in providing business and financial advisory services for assigned businesses including internal budgeting and forecasting labour analytics capital reporting and planning divisional management reporting accommodation and insurance and development of risk and savings plans and supports program delivery through improvements on financial systems and reporting processes and budget performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities in this role include:

  • Financial Planning: Developing and monitoring Group operating and capital budgets financial forecasts and forward estimates to meet existing requirements and commitments.
  • Performance Reporting: Provide insightful performance reporting and critical analysis on financial results Group initiatives projects and related issues.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with business units to devise strategies for managing budget variances and assessing the commercial viability and impact on net service costs.
  • Advisory Services: Offer strategic advisory services on financial and budgetary drivers including branch and cost centre analysis and support in setting and monitoring savings targets.

About You

Preferably youll possess demonstrated expertise in a similar position. Your ability to collaborate effectively and offer guidance to a wide range of stakeholders including Directors and Executive Directors should be exceptional complemented by strong communication skills.

Experience in labour analytics and/or corporate costing models and familiarity with My Outcomes and BlackLine or a readiness to acquire such knowledge will be greatly valued.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting/business or extensive demonstrated experience.
  • Eligibility for membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
