Were looking for a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to support our clinical team in delivering safe efficient and high-quality medication services. This role is primarily focused on inventory management and operational support within the pharmacy department.


Under the direct supervision of a physician or registered pharmacist the Pharmacy Technician performs technical non-judgmental aspects of medication distribution record keeping and inventory control. The role supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Compensation: $19.50 - $26.29 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calculate correct dosage volumes converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
  • Assist in controlled substance record keeping in accordance with practice guidelines state and federal regulations.
  • Mitigate inventory issues such as idle stock outdates and evaluate on-hand levels to ensure optimal inventory performance.
  • Coordinate large buy-in recommendations based on usage trends and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate logs for temperature protocol drugs and patient assistance programs.
  • Manage inventory documentation including quantities lot numbers and expiration dates.
  • Provide support across the medication use continuum including label preparation documentation basic data entry pre-billing review and ordering medications and supplies.
  • Assist with required cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy department in accordance with state rules and USP compliance.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level experience in a pharmacy.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended unless required by state law.

Physical Demands:

  • Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to read and note appropriate measurements.
  • Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.


Work Environment:

  • Regular exposure to direct contact with patients with potential for exposure to toxic substances
