Job Summary

Department: Mission & Workforce Development
Reports To: President & CEO
Supervises: Program Managers Training Support Specialists Mission Services Coordinator Workforce Training Staff
Coordinates With: Accounting & Compliance Specialist

The Head of Mission Services will lead develop and implement workforce development and mission service initiatives that align with Goodwills mission ensuring all organizational team and personal goals are achieved.
Position Summary:
The Head of Mission Services is responsible for strategic leadership program oversight and contract complianceincluding Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) collaborationfor all mission services and workforce development programs. This role oversees service delivery program staff contracts and compliance and develops partnerships to expand Goodwills reach in providing training rehabilitation and employment opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership-
Provide strategic vision for all mission services and workforce development programs.
Develop policies procedures and staffing structures positioning Goodwill as a workforce development leader.
Guide program expansion via grants proposals and partnerships.
Contract & Program Management-
Act as primary contact for MDRS ensuring compliance with contract terms and CARF standards.
Oversee client services: create implement and adjust individualized training and employment plans for successful outcomes.
Use data-driven analysis for monitoring program performance; ensure accurate records and compliance.
Conduct audits on activities and client files to uphold quality and compliance.
Staff Leadership & Development-
Lead Program Managers Training Support Specialists Mission Services Coordinator and Workforce Training Staff.
Ensure staff are trained supported and equipped to deliver high-quality services.
Hold regular team meetings to review progress and tackle challenges.
Partnerships & Community Engagement-
Build and maintain partnerships with public/private entities employers and agencies.
Coordinate with employers and industry clusters to assess local workforce needs.
Represent Goodwill at community events conferences and stakeholder meetings.
Contribute to writing grants and proposals for workforce development programs.
Outreach & Advocacy-
Present to businesses organizations elected officials and community groups to foster engagement and cooperation.
Promote workforce training programs within the community.
Support Goodwill outreach efforts to reinforce its leadership in workforce development.
Compliance & Ethics-
Safeguard confidential information.
Foster an ethical safe and CARF-compliant workplace.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in social work rehabilitation counseling business administration education or closely related field required; Masters level degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of management experiencepreferably in a nonprofit workforce development or social services setting.
Experience with individuals with disabilities or employment barriers preferred.
Familiarity with federal/state workforce funding (e.g. WIOA) preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Effective leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication.
Strategic solutions-oriented and adept in program development.
Relationship builder with external partners and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
CARF knowledge a plus.

Additional Requirements:
Commitment to Goodwill Industries of Mississippis mission.
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
Able to pass background check drug/alcohol screening and driving record verification.
Physical Requirements:
Capable of functioning in high-stress deadline-driven environments.
Frequently bends twists kneels reaches and standsor walksfor extended periods.
Travel:
Frequent travel (including overnight) is required across central Mississippi for program oversight team support and community engagement.
