Director Institutional Effectiveness

Reports to:
Vice President of Enrollment and Institutional Effectiveness.
Job Purpose:
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness leads a university-wide culture of data-informed decision-making continuous improvement and accreditation readiness. The role ensures that performance data assessment results and analytic insights guide student success academic quality and operational effectiveness in alignment with AIUs mission and strategic priorities. This position reports to the Vice President of Enrollment and Institutional Effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accreditation Readiness and Quality Assurance
- Coordinate and support institutional and program accreditation activities including self-studies documentation and quality assurance reviews.
- Maintain accreditation evidence reports and cycles of continuous improvement.
- Strengthen assessment literacy and accountability across academic and administrative units.
Strategic Planning and Institutional Performance
- Guide planning processes and monitor progress against strategic goals and institutional KPIs.
- Review academic and administrative outcomes to recommend targeted improvements.
- Support program review processes and promote data-driven actions that enhance student learning and operational effectiveness.
Institutional Research and Analytics
- Oversee institutional data governance to ensure data integrity and consistent reporting.
- Manage external reporting requirements and produce analytics that support executive decision-making.
- Design and administer institutional surveys and communicate findings that inform improvement planning.
Policy Development and Collaboration
- Maintain and update institutional effectiveness policies and procedures in alignment with best practices.
- Facilitate collaboration with faculty and staff to advance a culture of quality accountability and evidence-based practice.
Skills:
Knowledge and Technical Strengths
- Broad understanding of higher education quality assurance and institutional effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Skilled with institutional data tools and survey platforms such as Power BI
and Tableau.
Leadership and Communication
- Effective collaborator with strong influence and relationship-building skills across stakeholder groups.
- Excellent writing and presentation abilities with attention to clarity and impact.
- Ability to manage timelines project roadmaps and lead cross-functional projects to successful completion.
Qualifications
- Masters degree
in higher education administration institutional research quality assurance or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in institutional effectiveness accreditation planning or analytics roles.
- Demonstrated success driving improvement initiatives in a higher education environment.
