At Novonesis we are searching for a cheese scientist to join our Applied R&D Cheese & Phage team in our Food & Beverage Biosolutions Division in Hørsholm. We are seeking a candidate for a permanent position starting on February 1st 2026. As a cheese scientist you will work in the cheese team and you will support our customers to use our biosolutions (cultures enzymes) in the Pasta Filata and Cheddar cheese segment.

The Applied R&D Cheese & Phage team plays a crucial role in creating more value from our biosolutions by helping our customers to use them in cheese plants and our team plays an important role in the development of new cultures and enzymes for the cheese industry.

You will be part of a team of 60 competent and engaged colleagues of scientists and laboratory technicians.

As our Pasta Filata-Cheddar expert you will be part of the team (scientists technicians cheese makers) and interact with our sale colleagues global marketing and customers.

Your focus will be to be heavily involved in technical support in trouble shooting and implementation of new cultures and enzymes at our customers production plants.

The team is characterized by a very high degree of autonomy but with a close collaboration on shared topics. Our atmosphere is characterized by sharing and caring as well as discussions on topics that can make a difference for ourselves and our cheese expertise output.

You will be working in modern offices and lab facilities.

Your assignments will be mainly to drive and participate in customers trials across the world in close collaboration with our sale organization and your manager. You will primarily be working on the following type of tasks:

• Plan execute and report on trials at customer plants or in our Application and Technology Centre (ATC)
• Interact with Sales teams
• Provide the technical support (sales and customers) for Pasta Filata and Cheddar cheese in close collaboration with the cheese segment responsible
• Collaborate closely with all colleagues the Cheese application team
• Producer of Technical reports
• Formulate strategies for the future in relation to your focus area
• Collaborate closely with Commercial Development to develop document existing concepts/solutions on the technical side

You have a degree in dairy or food engineering or a PhD in food science with a dairy background and it is key that you have a strong interest in cheese techno-logy microbiology and cheese biochemistry.

You are an experienced cheese maker and have customer interaction experiences.

You have a winning personality a professional appearance and an open-minded approach towards partners and colleagues with other cultural and professional backgrounds. Furthermore you master English orally and in writing.

While collaboration is key to our success you also need to thrive in handling your tasks independently and take initiative.

You must have the ability to prioritize between many important topics that often change.

Good communication skills are essential to succeed in this role.
