The Sr. Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) serves as a trusted leader in the CooperSurgical division of CooperCompanies. Reporting to the Sr. Director Commercial FP&A this position will be the lead finance business partner to the Sr. VP of Commercial SBU and International Medical Device. The position will be accountable for leading the business partnering budgeting forecasting and financial analysis activities for a global franchise of fast-growing medical devices. This is a critical and highly visible role supporting a $400 million franchise that requires strong leadership skills sharp financial acumen and a solid business sense.
This role works in a fast-paced competitive environment fueled by a commitment to healthy women babies and families. You will be relied on for your expertise professionalism and collaboration. This role is a full-time in-office position and is based out of our HQ office located in Trumbull CT.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Function as a key business partner to theSr. VP of Commercial SBU and International Medical Device and the leadership team providing support and advice on all financial elements of the business.
- Partner with the Business Unit Team members to help identify key opportunities to improve financial performance and grow the business profitably.
- Lead a long-range strategic plan annual budget quarterly forecasts and monthly reporting process for the business unit
- Compare planned to actual financial performance interpret results and variances support monthly accounting close and give guidance on necessary course corrections
- Partner with business leads to translate strategic initiatives and operational goals into a financial outlook
- Work closely with department heads and business leads to provide transparency and insights into the financial performance of their business unit
- Perform special analysis such as return on investment pricing analytics etc. that facilitates management decision-making.
- Support strategic business planning process and new business / investment opportunities with returns analyses
- Build detailed financial scenario-based models to evaluate investment priorities and potential alternatives
- Help drive business decisions by providing actionable financial reporting on a regular and ad-hoc basis
- Identify industry insights competitive trends and business intelligence
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to effectively scrutinize and challenge assumptions and interpret the strategy and priorities of the organization in financial terms
- 10 years of finance/FP&A experience medical device industry experience is preferred
- Bachelors degree in a financial discipline MBA and/or CPA preferred but not essential
- Experience creating and presenting to key stakeholders and senior leadership
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate with various stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and as team player including complex dynamic teams
- Ability to maintain demanding timelines
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities work simultaneously on multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment
- Strong attention to detail excellent analytical skills
- Clear communication and client interface skills
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to successfully influence associates across the organization
Work Environment:
This role is a full-time in-office position and is based out of our HQ office located in Trumbull CT
- Some travel will be a necessary part of this role. Due to the international nature of the business candidate must be prepared to work flexible hours
Experience:
- Will have extensive hands-on experience in an FP&A role within a commercial/operational organization
- 10 or more years of finance/FP&A experience
Education:
- Bachelors degree in financial discipline. MBA and/or CPA preferred but not essential.
Travel:
Some travel is expected.
