Description
Position is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical care by performing technical and clerical duties associated with the operation of the Pharmacy including the preparation of I.V. mixtures. Personnel in this position must have complete knowledge of the pharmacy operations and be proficient in the unit dose area I.V. room and/or PYXIS system. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Specific age groups that are served by this position are marked.
Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications Required
- Enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy or an accredited pre-pharmacy program or an accredited pharmacy technician program as recognized by the ND Board of Pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacy Intern License from the ND Board of Pharmacy.
Educational Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited pre-pharmacy program or an accredited College of Pharmacy or an accredited pharmacy technician program as recognized by the ND Board of Pharmacy.
Experience Requirements
Special Skills or Training Requirements
- Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods.
- Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests.
- Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).
- Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients.
