Job Summary
Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law including child custody child abuse and domestic violence. Jobseekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements divorce alimony child support and real estate and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations.

- Develop case strategies provide leadership and guide paralegals and legal assistants
- Handle full caseloads independently from case inception to resolution
- Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare memos on complex case issues
- Appear in court for various family law proceedings representing clients in high-stakes situations
- Prepare clients for trials advocate on their behalf and work with experts when necessary
- Oversee the division of marital assets and negotiate settlements in divorce cases
- Maintain organized client files ensuring documentation accuracy and timeliness
- Cultivate relationships with clients providing clear communication and emotional support through challenging situations
Who Were Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years in Family Law litigation and courtroom advocacy (required)
- Licenses: Licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia
- Skill Set: Excellent written and verbal communication skills strategic problem-solving and attention to detail
- Mindset: A compassionate and resilient advocate with experience navigating high-stress emotional cases with a client-focused approach
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in analyzing and summarizing legal documents with strong attention to detail
- Team-Focused: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a supportive team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Estate Planning experience
- Proven success in advocating for both plaintiffs and defendants
- Strong negotiation skills especially under stressful conditions
