About the Role
The school is seeking a Science Technician to support the smooth running of its busy Science laboratories across Biology Chemistry and Physics. The successful candidate will assist teachers in preparing practical lessons maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring that health and safety standards are met at all times.
You will play a vital role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning helping to create engaging and safe practical experiences for pupils across all key stages. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with a passion for science and education.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up laboratory apparatus materials and chemicals for practical lessons
Assist in demonstrations and support teachers during experiments where required
Ensure all science equipment is maintained cleaned and stored appropriately
Monitor stock levels and order resources as necessary
Adhere to health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines at all times
Support departmental projects and extracurricular science activities
Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory setting preferred
Good understanding of laboratory practices safety and maintenance
Strong organisational and communication skills
Relevant qualification in Science or laboratory-based discipline desirable
Legal right to work in the UK
