Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read and interpret plans extensive knowledge of construction processes and the capability to prepare accurate project cost estimates.

Job Title: Senior Estimator

Reports To: Lead Estimator

Location: Oahu & Maui HI

Summary: The Senior Estimator is responsible for the estimating bid documentation and qualification of bids.

Understands plan and specification organization and how each area relates to the estimating procurement process.
Participate in on-site pre-bid project review / take pictures (if allowed) / make sketches and/or note areas of potential difficulty.
Monitor and report the status of the various stages of the bid process to the Director of Project Controls.
Interpret the plans and specifications into a written scope of work.

Required Qualifications:

4-year degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience (working knowledge) of construction design finance and accounting practices.
Must have the ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
Working knowledge of procurement techniques procedures and policies.
Working knowledge of accounting practices and business contract laws.
Excellent organizational skills carried through to paperwork documentation and files.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Computer skills are mandatory; knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Experience in estimating takeoff software (i.e. On-Screen Takeoff Bluebeam e-takeoff Planswift).
Experience in estimating programs (i.e. Sage Estimating HCSS Win-Est).
