The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program you will actively contribute to your teams success learn about JM Familys companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities networking events and much more.
The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 26th 2026 - July 31st 2026).
Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks providing hands-on experience and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Familys culture including our core values: Consideration Cooperation Communication Innovation and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.
The Legal Interns may be placed in the JM Family legal department or in the legal department of Southeast Toyota Distributors and Southeast Toyota Finance (World Omni Financial Corp.). The Legal Interns will assist with a variety of legal projects conduct legal research and provide legal analysis across all areas of JM Familys operations. Interns will work directly with in-house attorneys paralegals and support staff and will have routine exposure to other departments in the company.
Responsibilities:
Legal research and writing.
Attend client meetings and present research to stakeholders.
Contract review and drafting.
Reviewing customer complaints and litigation.
Policy and procedure review.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will be available to work on-site at our Deerfield Beach FL offices for the duration of our summer program.
Actively enrolled in an accredited law school
Must have completed 1L coursework at the start of the internship
Legal research and writing skills
Basic contract knowledge
Basic understanding of legal terms
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail
Candidates should be detail-oriented creative curious and willing to contribute as a team player
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of integrity is required due to the confidential nature of the position in the Legal department.
