Freelance Cybersecurity Engineer Remote from Spain

This is a remote position.

Blue Code Alicante is building a freelance Cybersecurity Talent Pool for upcoming projects with our international clients based in the Netherlands.

We are looking for experienced Cybersecurity Engineers and Consultants to collaborate on various freelance assignments focused on protecting IT infrastructures cloud environments and applications against modern security threats.

You will become part of our European Cybersecurity Competence Center supporting clients across sectors such as Finance Healthcare and Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform security assessments audits and penetration tests across infrastructure networks and cloud environments.
  
• Monitor detect and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  
• Implement and maintain security tools such as SIEM firewalls IDS/IPS and endpoint protection systems.
  
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve security in CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Support compliance and risk management efforts (ISO27001 NIST GDPR).
  
• Provide recommendations and documentation for security architecture and processes.
  
• Contribute to automation and tooling for threat detection and response.
  
• Stay updated on emerging security threats tools and best practices.
  

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity
  
• Experience in one or more areas: Cloud Security (AWS Azure GCP) Network Security Application Security or SOC Operations.
  
• Hands-on knowledge of SIEM (Splunk Sentinel ELK) Firewalls IDS/IPS vulnerability scanners or endpoint protection.
  
• Experience with incident response audits or compliance frameworks.
  
• Higher professional education working and thinking level.
  
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills. Minimum B2 level.
  
• Candidates must be located in Spain.

EXTRA: certifications such as CISSP CEH OSCP or CompTIA Security are a plus.
