Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for managing a broad range of human resources functions including recruitment and onboarding managing employee relations and ensuring legal compliance. This role will touch many areas of people services including but not limited to recruitment onboarding employee relations training talent and performance management. An ability to identify opportunities and new ways to implement sustainable change initiatives and collaborate with the Leadership to challenge the status quo concerning organizational needs is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and post job descriptions across relevant platforms
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including screening interviewing and coordination with hiring managers
- Coordinate training and development programs including leadership development skills enhancement and compliance training
- Prepare reports and data collection analyses to inform strategic planning and HR decision-making
- Service as a point of contact for employee concerns issues and conflict resolution
- Plan and implement employee engagement and recognition initiatives
- Promote a positive organizational culture through proactive communication and events
- Manage benefits enrollment and related employee communication
- Draft update and implement HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with ESA Human Rights Code WorkSafeBC and all other legislations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and contracts
- Manage WorkSafeBC claims and return-to-work processes
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Provide date-driven insights to support workforce planning and decision-making
- Advise managers and leadership on best HR practices and legal compliance
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of the EFN
- Promotes a respectful workplace and supports health & safety and health & wellness initiatives
- Supports the implementation and ongoing use of HR policies projects and programs focused on enhancing performance and growth
- Is a role model for professionalism when representing EFN internally and externally
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management or a related field (preferred)
- CPHR designation or working towards certification is an asset
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) payroll software and other HR technologies
- Strong working knowledge of HR practices
- Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Strong analytical and organizations skills with a high attention to detail
- Valid class 5 drivers license
Working Conditions
- Travel will be required
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and additional hardware
- Overtime as required
- Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required
