Principal Engineer - Electrical R42133
The Principal Engineer Electrical performs high level engineering analysis design or re-design validation and troubleshooting of complex electrical/electronic systems for heavy duty vehicles. Provides integration and execution support for vehicle control and embedded systems development.

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Responsible for completion of a project or part of a project of moderate complexity on time.
  • Responsible for overall project schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for managing multiple priorities.
  • Performs more complex engineering calculations investigations and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Responsible for preparation and delivery of plans designs computation methods and/or reporting.
  • Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
  • May have exposure to the external customers and/or industry organizations.
  • Provides guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers working on common projects.
  • Research create and update standard engineering methodology and procedures - best practices etc.
  • Provide technical electrical expertise for prototype pilot or production builds including resolution of problems in manufacturing.
  • Select and/or design complex electrical components for function cost reliability and manufacturability.
  • Other duties as assigned regular attendance is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field with five (5) or more years of related experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Accredited Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with Catia and/or E3 software as well as 3D modeling.
  • Design experience with programming languages and controls software.
  • Design experience with Controller Area Network (CAN)/SAE J1939 and/or Vehicle Networking.
  • Electrical troubleshooting/root cause/corrective action experience.
  • Wire Harness design expertise and process improvement experience.

Pay Range:

$82000.00 - $132800.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
