Job Summary
ARISE & Ski is looking to add to our Ski Education staff. Love winter alpine skiing and making a difference in someones life. We are looking for you.
The ARISE & Ski Education staff is responsible for teaching adaptive alpine lessons at Labrador Mountain. The Education staff are responsible for providing high-quality safe adaptive alpine lessons as well as providing support in various program related day-to-day tasks. This position is often the first to interface with participants and their families/caregivers which requires exceptional customer service and people skills. Contractor is duly qualified and experienced in alpine skiing and ski instruction including working with persons with disabilities during recreational activities. Education Staff will provide the below mentioned services as many hours as needed to complete the services assigned including ski instruction and required training on Saturdays and Sundays from January and February. This may be approximately 15 hours per week throughout the term of contract.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and present ARISE & Ski training and program materials to staff and volunteers. Participate in required information sessions dry-land trainings and on-hill preseason and during season clinics. Conflicts must be discussed and agreed upon before signing contract.
Train staff volunteers and participants in working with persons with disabilities and use of adaptive equipment
Promote ARISE & Ski program and solicit volunteers and participants through various channels in coordination with ARISEs Community Inclusion Senior Supervisor
Document and complete paperwork on participants donors staff volunteers and activities in conformance with agency policy and directions as required
If applicable maintain Professional Ski Instructors of America certification status by attending PSIA clinics per PSIA regulations.
Job Qualifications:
Proficient at Alpine Skiing and/or snowboarding
PSIA-AASI Instructor Certification; Adaptive Alpine Certification preferred
Background check fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
