The eBOS Electrical Project Engineer (PJE) is responsible for supporting and leading electrical design layout optimization and project execution activities for utility-scale solar projects. This role focuses on electrical Balance of System (eBOS) components such as trunk bus string harnesses and DC distribution systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support electrical design and layout development for eBOS systems across multiple projects.
Develop and manage project requirements and design deliverables to meet commercial and execution needs.
Design and review AC and DC power distribution systems including systems operating above 1kV DC.
Guide customers in optimizing DC electrical layouts to maximize system performance efficiency and constructability.
Participate in value engineering activities to reduce project costs while maintaining quality and compliance.
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation packages including drawings BOMs installation details and technical specifications.
Analyze and solve technical issues providing repeatable and supportable solutions within project timelines.
Collaborate with Sales Project Management and Field Engineering teams to provide technical support during pre- and post-sales phases.
Analyze field data and identify corrective and preventive actions to improve product and system reliability.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of eBOS design standards documentation and processes.
Requirements:
BS in Electrical Mechatronics or Electromechanical Engineering preferred.
2 years of experience in an electrical design or drafting role preferably within eBOS utility-scale power plants power distribution or renewable energy.
Experience with solar utility or renewable energy system integration preferred.
Thorough knowledge of electrical drafting standards.
Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated team player with a proactive attitude.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for internal collaboration and customer interactions.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
