Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Advisor to support the implementation and continuous improvement of our safety programs. This role is key in promoting a proactive safety culture ensuring compliance with OSHA and ISO 45001 standards and reducing risks from workplace hazards. Join our fast-growing team and help drive meaningful measurable safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage safety programs in compliance with OSHA ISO 45001 and internal standards
  • Serve as the site lead for ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 systems
  • Conduct and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Identify hazard controls and recommend process and equipment improvements
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure compliance and minimize risks
  • Review new equipment and facility plans for safety compliance
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Handling workmans compensation claims
  • Prepare and submit required safety reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor environmental conditions (air noise temperature etc.) for compliance
  • Support safety committees and employee engagement initiatives
  • Deliver safety training to employees and contractors
  • Conduct audits and contribute to safety performance improvement
  • Liaise with emergency services and health professionals as needed
  • Analyze safety data to identify trends and inform preventative actions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Experience with workmans compensation
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations ISO 45001 and hazard mitigation principles
  • Experience with inspections training audits and root cause analysis

Credentials

  • Safety Engineer license or certification (preferred)
  • CSP CIH or equivalent EHS certifications a plus
  • ISO 45001 or OHSAS 18001 internal auditor certification (preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods across large operational areas
  • Ability to climb bend and access elevated or confined spaces for inspections
  • Comfortable wearing required PPE and working in a variety of environmental conditions (noise heat etc.)
