Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Knows and applies fundamental concepts practices and procedures of power system protection protective relays and their applications settings and testing
2. Assist teams that support customers with the design installation commissioning and operation of protection systems both on-site and from SEL offices.
3. Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.
4. Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.
5. Follow and apply SEL Values Principles of Operations and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
6. Understand. Create. Simplify.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions
Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 25% based on focus area.
Strong writing documentation and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection symmetrical components programming control systems)
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
Work experience in electric utilities industrial plants communications computer programming or construction
