Job Description

Job Title:Permanent Histologist

Location:Tallahassee FL

Shift: 9am to 5:30pm

Job Responsibilities:

Processing embedding and cutting of tissue specimens
Staining and cover-slipping of slides
Performing special and immunohistochemical staining procedures
Performing frozen section procedures
Labeling correlating distributing and filing slides
Performing and documenting quality control
Reagent maintenance and cleaning of processors and stainers
Other laboratory duties as assigned

Requirements:

Experience - Two years Histotechnician experience preferred.

License/Registration - Current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license or HT or HTL (ASCP) certification required.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting carrying pushing up to 25 lbs
Standing kneeling bending
Repetitive motion tasks for extended periods
Ability to discern color
Ability to work with/around laboratory chemicals/fumes
