Job Duties

Evaluates analyzes and interprets all incoming documentation including jail credits court orders pre/post sentence investigation reports Virginia and FBI criminal histories parole information disciplinary reports class level evaluations and other legal documents regarding assigned offender caseloads to determine appropriate action impacting the accurate calculation of the offenders release dates.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated experience comprehending and interpreting laws legal documents and policies. Basic knowledge of the Code of Virginia as it pertains to criminal sentencing. Demonstrated ability to work independently and analyze and resolve problems with general guidance from supervision. Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in procedures priorities and the automated system. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the work unit. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in writing. Working skills in operating automated equipment. Mathematics and calculation skills.

Additional Considerations

Advanced knowledge in criminal justice corrections or related fields. Prefer Virginia Department of Corrections experience especially in the area of adult institutions classification records or casework management beneficial. Prefer some experience with data entry
