DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Nursing staff on the 3N Mother Baby Unit provide individualized care to postpartum women and newborns within the context of family and relationship centered care. The patient population consists of women in the early postpartum period and their normal newborns or uncomplicated late preterm newborns women who chose to be cared for on the MB unit following a newborn loss and women who are readmitted to the hospital within 6 weeks postpartum. 3N MB is an inpatient unit consisting of 34 adult beds and 42 nursery beds.
SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Nurse Manager provides support for patients visitors and colleagues on assigned nursing units. Facilitates efficient patient throughput including admissions discharges and transfers. Supports patient experience and culture of safety goals through equipment maintenance unit supplies unit appearance and overall environment of care. Provides reception type services to patients families visitors and other unit guests.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Three to six months previous related experience
Preferred customer service retail clerical experience
