The Tasman a Luxury Collection Hotel Hobart
Nestled just steps from Hobarts waterfront and the citys top restaurants and attractions. The Tasman is a unique combination of Modern Contemporary Art Deco and Heritage architecture. Presenting 152 luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites with carefully restored features and adorned with exclusive art pieces from local artists The Tasman reflects the true spirit of the destination.
In this highly visible role you will lead and inspire our banquet team to deliver bespoke service for a variety of events - from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. You will take pride in creating seamless experiences where every detail reflects The Tasmans hallmark sophistication and warmth.
We are looking for an individual with a genuine passion for hospitality who thrives in dynamic environments and leads with confidence care and professionalism.
- Lead and oversee banquet setups ensuring cleanliness accuracy and presentation in line with event specifications and brand standards.
- Execute special event arrangements seamlessly delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Supervise and support the team during events providing direction coaching and on-the-floor assistance.
- Inspect table setups and service stations resolving any issues to maintain quality and attention to detail.
- Train and develop team members sharing knowledge of service standards procedures and products.
- Coordinate with Culinary and Event teams to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Uphold health safety and food handling standards while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
About You:
- Previous experience as a Banquet Team Leader in a luxury hotel or premium event setting - or a motivated professional ready to take the next step in their career
- A refined and intuitive approach to service with a strong understanding of event flow and guest engagement
- Genuine interest in food and beverage with wine and cocktail knowledge highly regarded
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to train mentor and motivate a team
- Calm under pressure with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Impeccable personal presentation and communication skills
- Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Full working rights in Australia
- Flexibility to work across varied shifts including days evenings weekends and public holidays
