Responsibilities
The 2026 Summer Actuarial Intern will be responsible for the following:
- The person in this role will be part of a diverse team majority of which are credentialed actuaries.
- The person in this role will utilize their effective communication and technical skills to support various actuarial functions of the organization and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- The person in this role will gain hands-on experience as a reinsurance actuary by working closely with a group of experience actuarial professionals.
- The person in this role will also have exposure to other functions of a reinsurance company such as Underwriting Reinsurance Accounting Claims etc.
- Work closely with underwriters and senior actuaries to analyze and price reinsurance submissions and provide recommendations.
- Participate in discussion with underwriters and senior management to help them understand the conclusions and the key assumptions built into the pricing analysis.
- Assist in developing enhancing and managing pricing models.
- Assist in updating actuarial parameters through researching internal and external data sources.
- This internship program can be arranged between 10 to 12 weeks in the summer of 2026.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelors degree or graduate degree in an actuarial science or related field of study
- Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills
- Intellectual curiosity is crucial
- Interested in pursuing an actuarial career
- Completion of 1-2 CAS/SOA exams preferred
