JOB GOAL: The Business Manager shall serve as the chief financial officer of the District under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools. The Business Manager shall be responsible for the Districts business and financial functions and other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent of STATUS: Full time/SalaryQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in accounting or related Public Accountant (CPA). (Preferred)Certification by the Iowa School Business Official Authorization or ability to obtain the authorization within two years of the start date of employment (or as otherwise specified by the Board).Ability to communicate effectively with Superintendent of Schools State Department of Education Department of Management County Auditors and Assessors and Area Education Agency to file forms electronically using Internet based State and Federal with the concepts of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Public with computerized fund/payroll accounting RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Coordinate and operate the Districts accounting system for all funds including payroll records review of data input and output and distribution of reports to administrative in the administration of the Districts business affairs in order to provide complete and accurate operations of business office computer the Accounting Clerk and the Payroll/Benefits accuracy of work a balanced workload and maintenance of proper internal control in the completion of local state and federal the business office computer the Districts equipment and fixed asset inventory monthly quarterly and annual reports as District records with bank statements audit reports and other third party effective oral and written communication skills in dissemination of information to provide timely and accurate responses to all adjusting and closing entries necessary for preparation of financial monthly quarterly and annual to inquiries of vendors staff and other personnel outside the business office on business office cash balances in all funds to determine needs for transfer and/or investment of all accounting operations as well as the collection safekeeping and distribution of all as Treasurer for the District Board of other job related duties as assigned.1 The statements contained herein describe the scope of responsibility and essential functions of this position but should not be considered to be an all inclusive listing of work requirements.
