Position Overview
Wells Fargo is seeking a hands-on Project Lead to execute and coordinate a multi-team initiative within the Finance Data Domain Management program.
This program focuses on enhancing data governance lineage and quality management across enterprise finance systems ensuring compliance with internal policy risk frameworks and regulatory commitments.
The Project Lead will operate as a pseudo Scrum Master / Business Execution lead managing daily coordination accountability reporting and Agile process enforcement across multiple cross-functional teams.
Core Responsibilities
Program Execution & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate all daily execution activities across Finance Data Risk and Technology workstreams.
- Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable work plans and deliverables.
- Own the daily operational rhythm (yesterday-to-today accountability) to ensure progress closure of issues and escalation where required.
- Manage dependencies risks and impediments across 5 10 sub-teams and track progress against milestones.
- Maintain momentum on multi-stream initiatives with overlapping priorities and deadlines.
Agile Process Facilitation
- Establish and lead daily stand-ups topical working sessions and weekly performance reviews to maintain alignment.
- Implement Agile best practices for non-SDLC programs (e.g. data management controls implementation).
- Stand up and maintain Jira boards Epics Stories and Dashboards to track work items metrics and status by team.
- Time-box discussions to enforce decision-making discipline; ensure meetings drive to outcomes.
Reporting & Metrics
- Develop and deliver daily weekly and monthly performance reports highlighting milestones achieved issues and risk mitigation actions.
- Track KPIs such as:
- % of closed action items
- SLA adherence for issue resolution
- Data deliverables completion rate
- Risk/Control validation progress
- Create executive-level dashboards and PowerPoint summaries for senior management and governance committees.
Stakeholder Management & Governance
- Partner with Data Domain Leads Product Owners Finance Transformation and Operational Risk stakeholders.
- Serve as the liaison between business owners risk partners and technology teams.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise Data Management Policy including metadata lineage and quality standards.
- Facilitate reviews and documentation required for Audit and Compliance readiness.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience in Business Execution Project Management Implementation or Strategic Planning - ideally in large financial institutions.
- Experience leading cross-functional data or finance programs with measurable impact.
- Demonstrated expertise using Jira Confluence or similar Agile tools for tracking and reporting.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to synthesize information from multiple workstreams into clear data-driven insights.
- Exceptional communication and facilitation skills - able to lead diverse groups through structured meetings and decision-making.
- Proven record of managing complex programs with regulatory operational risk or compliance deliverables.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project Excel (pivot tables metrics dashboards) PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Preferred / Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Finance Data Domain Management Data Governance or Data Quality initiatives.
- Knowledge of Operational Risk frameworks RCSA or SOX controls.
- Understanding of BCBS 239 CCAR and Basel data governance standards.
- Exposure to Enterprise Data Strategy Metadata Management or Data Lineage tooling (e.g. Collibra Informatica Alation).
- Familiarity with Agile transformation in non-software environments.
- Experience supporting programs with regulatory reporting data remediation or risk control implementation components.
