Requirements:

Active RN license in Connecticut.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).

Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience preferably in school health pediatrics or public health.

Current BLS certification (CPR).

Strong assessment communication and organizational skills.

Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.

Knowledge of student health regulations immunization requirements and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care to students and staff including first aid medication administration and management of chronic health conditions.

Maintain and update student health records including immunizations and medical history.

Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized care for students with health needs.

Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with parents physicians and emergency services when necessary.

Promote health education and wellness programs within the school community.

Monitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure adherence to public health guidelines.

Collaborate with school administrators counselors and teachers to support student well-being.

Ensure compliance with state laws and school health policies.

Participate in ongoing professional development and school health initiatives.
