General Job Description:

Assist the Safety Manager to maintain the safety program in compliance with local state and federal regulations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety orientation and training as required.
Assist in Accident investigation and follow-up.
Oversee the safety committees.
PPE program
Safety reporting - comply with local state and federal regulations as well as internal requirements.
Responsible for weekly safety huddle.
Assist in tracking reporting and submission of safety & environmental related items as required by local state and federal regulations as well as internally.
Assist with the maintenance of all necessary Material Safety Data sheets.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Knowledge of local state and federal safety regulations
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Publishers
Ability to multi-task plan organize and review information proficiently.
A thorough knowledge of standard office procedures practices and equipment
Excellent presentation skills communications both written and verbal
Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of employees as well as outside contacts.

Educational Requirements

High school diploma

Continuing education as needed regarding new OSHA regulations & Workers Compensation

Physical Qualifications:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time in an office environment.
Must be able to repeat same movements.
Standing moving and/or walking frequently.
Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

Must be able to read a computer screen paperwork and communicate effectively.
