Position Summary
The Resident Assistant (RA) plays a vital role in fostering a supportive living environment within the university residence halls. This position involves serving as a resource mentor and leader for a designated group of students within the residential community. RAs are responsible for building relationships promoting community engagement and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Building Community: Foster a sense of community among residents through organized activities events and programming. Mentorship and Support: Serve as a resource and mentor for residents offering guidance advice and support in academic personal and social matters. Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts and concerns within the residence hall mediating disputes and facilitating open communication among residents. Policy Enforcement: Enforce university policies and regulations within the residence hall including those related to safety conduct and community standards. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies and crises within the residence hall following established protocols and procedures. Administrative Duties: Complete administrative tasks such as documenting incidents maintaining records and submitting reports as required. On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support and assistance to residents as needed.
