Job Summary

We currently have a temporary full-time position for a Pharmacy Technician in the Ambulatory Patient Pharmacy (Outpatient Pharmacy).

Key responsibilities of a Pharmacy Technician includes but is not limited to:

Performing functions while meeting standards of accuracy and speed;
Filling prescriptions using automation and workflow management software (Kroll & Innovations Smart Cabinet);
Compounding mixtures and other necessary medications;
Checking prescriptions as needed;
Completing necessary mathematical calculations;
Ensuring accuracy in cash register transactions;
Preparing daily cash reconciliation;
Preparing orders for delivery;
Inventory management; and
Ordering and receiving medications and supplies.

Must be available to work a Saturday shift as per the Pharmacy Technician rotation.

Qualifications/Skills

Qualified to be regulated by the Ontario College of Pharmacists leading to licensure as a Regulated Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of graduation
Registration as a Pharmacy Technician Intern after graduation
Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
Self-motivated to succeed and able to take initiative
Reliable and punctual
Previous customer service skills strongly preferred
Knowledge and experience of retail pharmacy computer system strongly preferred (Kroll Pharmacy Software)
Basic use of word processing and spreadsheets an asset
Knowledge of third party billing preferred
