The Line Superintendent leads the operations team to ensure safe reliable and efficient electric service delivery. This role oversees the construction maintenance and operation of the cooperatives distribution system. The Line Superintendent provides guidance supervision and support to operations personnel while maintaining compliance with safety regulations industry standards and cooperative policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate line personnel including Line Foremen Linemen Groundman Operators and Apprentices.
Direct daily operations of the Distribution system including substations regulators reclosers and preventive maintenance programs.
Develop schedules budgets and operational standards for the department; monitor progress and performance.
Oversee emergency response dispatching and Service Watch rotations.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures National Electric Safety Code (NESC) National Electric Code (NEC) and cooperative policies.
Participate in community and industry activities representing the cooperative positively.
Maintain and operate SCADA and OMS systems for efficient operations.
Complete required reports documentation and inspections accurately and timely.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of courses in basic electricity and electric line equipment preferred.
Minimum of five years experience in an electric distribution utility preferably an REMC.
Knowledge of RUS/REMC specifications substation operations metering and distribution equipment.
Familiarity with NESC NEC SCADA and OMS preferred.
Valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL); compliance with DOT drug and alcohol testing required.
Strong leadership communication and supervisory skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift materials over 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Capable of walking standing bending and supervising field crews; able to operate vehicles including trucks.
