Description

Emory University is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the Candler School of Theology as an Admissions Advisor. This key role focuses on recruiting for Candlers distinguished two-year masters programs including those geared towards individuals discerning a call to vocational ministry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in identifying and engaging prospective students guiding them from inquiry through matriculation and cultivating relationships with key influencers within the theological and broader academic community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs.
  • Reviews analyzes and rates applications of students applying for admission.
  • Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents and may conduct campus tours.
  • Assists in coordinating alumni volunteer activities.
  • May review and edit financial aid forms.
  • Composes correspondence and designs and generates reports.
  • Maintains communication via telephone correspondence and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Student Recruitment:

  • Actively recruit students by representing Candler at college recruitment fairs ministry events and other settings where prospective students may be found.

Program Advocacy:

  • Promote and advocate for Candlers two-year degree programs specifically the Master of Theological Studies Master of Arts in Religion and Leadership and Master of Religion and Public Life ensuring these programs are well-represented in all recruitment activities.

Prospective Student Engagement:

  • Lead information sessions for visiting students and their families conduct campus tours and serve as a knowledgeable resource throughout the admissions process.

Communication & Outreach:

  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with prospective students and key influencers through various channels including telephone email and direct correspondence ensuring a seamless experience from initial contact to enrollment.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Associate Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid and other team members to develop and enhance recruitment strategies that align with Candlers mission and goals.

Faculty and Alumni Engagement:

  • Assist in coordinating faculty and alumni activities to support recruitment efforts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience education and training.
  • A valid Georgia drivers license and an insurable driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Theological Education: A graduate degree in theology ministry or university student recruitment with prior experience in a graduate theological school setting being highly desirable.
  • Design Proficiency: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools is preferred for creating recruitment and marketing materials.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with enrollment management software (e.g. Slate) is desirable.
  • Recruitment Expertise: Proven ability to plan develop and execute effective student recruitment strategies.
  • Travel: Must possess a valid drivers license and be willing to travel extensively for recruitment purposes.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
